Sterile Air, Safe Life: Precautions to Take in the Fight Against Legionellosis

Legionellosis is an infection caused by bacteria called Legionella. The severe form of this infection is Legionnaires' disease, which usually causes pneumonia (inflammation of the lungs).

Legionellosis has become an increasing health problem worldwide. Research has shown that this disease is occurring more frequently each year.

Legionnaires' disease can be fatal in some cases. The mortality rate in infections caused by Legionella bacteria ranges from 3% to 33%.

This bacterium can usually be found in areas where water accumulates, especially in cooling systems, i.e., inside air conditioners.

In air conditioners, where water accumulates and humidity is high, if regular and adequate cleaning and disinfection are not carried out, Legionella bacteria can multiply. This can lead to the spread of disease through the respiratory tract.

How do we protect ourselves?
Air conditioners and similar systems should be regularly cleaned and disinfected.

The risk of disease spreading from air conditioners should be minimized by providing real air disinfection in the environment with Sterilisa Air.
